Writing an essay on abortion

Many assignments on the topic of abortion ask the student to present arguments for and against abortion. Indeed, arguments for and against abortion have been at the center of public debate for decades. Its an issue that divides people across many different lines. On one side, those who support abortions argue that it is a womans right to choose what happens with her body. On the other side, those opposed to abortion argue that it is an act of murder and goes against religious beliefs.

Proponents of abortion argue that it is a womans right to choose. They believe that a woman should have the right to decide whether or not to carry a pregnancy to term. This right is seen as essential to preserving a womans autonomy and bodily integrity. It is also argued that abortions should be available to women in order to prevent the potential of a child being born into an unsafe or abusive home. In addition, supporters of abortion point to the fact that denying women access to abortions can lead to dangerous and expensive unregulated procedures.

Opponents of abortion argue that it is an act of murder and goes against religious beliefs. They believe that life begins at conception and that by having an abortion, a woman is terminating the life of an unborn child. They also point to the potential psychological and emotional damage that can be caused to a woman by having an abortion. In addition, opponents of abortion argue that it is unnecessary in most cases, and that alternatives such as adoption are available.

In conclusion, the arguments for and against abortion are complex and varied. Each side has valid and important points.
