Chapter 1.

A boy named Ralph is playing on the beach when he discovers there is another boy who introduces himself as Piggy. He is chubby wears thick glasses and is very intellectual. In their conversation you figure out there is an transport plane carrying a group of English boys was shot down over the ocean. The plane crashed on a unknown island and they cannot find the pilot. Piggy and Ralph are searching the beach for the other boys. The stranded boys discover Piggy and make fun of him. The boys decide to choose a leader. Ralph wins the vote over Jack and it becomes clear Jack want to be the leader of the boys squad. Ralph, Jack and a mate of Jack leave the meeting and set off across the abandoned island. At the end of the island there is a hill which the boys decide to climb. On their way back the see a pig. Jack wants to kill it but hesitates. The pig flees and Jack makes the promise to kill next time. They get back to the beach where the other boys are waiting.

Chapter 2.

They set off another meeting on the beach. Ralph tells them they need to organize a few things to look after themselves. For example, they need hunters to get them food. When they are talking about getting found on the island panic starts to take over. The younger boys are really frightened and some of them are crying. Ralph comes with an idea to set off a signal of burning wood so every ship that is crossing the island  would see there are people on it. The boys manage to set off a large fire thanks to Biggy his glasses. When the boys discover one of the little boys is missing they are shocked. Later they pretend nothing has happened.

Chapter 3.

While Jack is off to hunt Ralph is trying to make huts for the younger boys to live in. Ralph gets irritated and has the feeling no one is helping him out. Ralph finds out that the only reason for Jack to hunt is that they can avoid the real work. There is a lot of tension between Ralph and Jack. The only boy willing to help Ralph is Simon. Simon finds a beautiful open space full of flowers birds and trees.

Chapter 4.

Life on the island is nothing more than the same daily rhythm over and over again. At daytime most of the children play in the lagoon and there is nothing to worry about. But at nighttime a lot of children are frightened and have sleeping troubles. The little boys are getting more scared about a monster called beastie and the get visions of it in their nightmares. At the horizon they see a ship but the fire signal is not on so the ship passes the island. Ralph is furious at the one who is responsible for the fire; Jack. Jack managed to catch a pig and later that night they all ate and dance near the fire. Jack slaps Piggy for his complaining’s and the tension between the boys is growing.

Chapter 5.

Ralph is walking on the beach when he is overthinking some ideas crossing his mind. He decides to call a meeting to make sure some boys are doing what they are supposed to do. Ralph starts the meeting with his irritations about almost every boy on the island who refuses to work and build shelters. Ralph says there is no monster on the island. The fear runs through the group of stranded boys. One of the little boys stands up and pretends that he had seen the beast yesterday. The hunters swore they would kill the monster if there is one. Ralph is thinking about giving up his leadership. At night you hear the little boys crying.

Chapter 6.

That night there are a lot of planes flying over the island. The boys who had the job to light the signal fire had fallen asleep. One pilot crashed and fell down on the island, dead. The dead body got strangled at rocks. When two boys wake up they want to make the fire bigger. Then they notice the dead pilot and they flee away. They tell Ralph they saw the monster. They set off an expedition to find monsters on the island. They discover an unknown part of the island and Jack and Ralph are going on an investigation. Ralph tells the boys to rebuild the signal but they are only talking about making a big fortress.

Chapter 7.

Ralph does not know what to do anymore. On their way back they see a big Boar and Ralph, who has never been on a hunt before, enjoys it. Eventually he tracks the beast down. Even though they did not manage to kill the beast the atmosphere in the group is much better. They decide to stay searching for the monster. Ralph, Jack and Roger climb the mountain. At top of the mountain they spot an ape looking shadow and they hurry down the mountain to tell the rest of the boys.

Chapter 8.

The appearance of the monster the day before has left a concern by the boys especially the younger ones. Jack mentally attacks Ralph and claims he is a coward and not suitable as leader. Jack leaves the group. Ralph is depressed until Piggy comes with the great idea to build a larger signal and Ralph has hope again. Jack calls himself the Chief and they are on a savage and kill everything they see. Jack tries to convince the other boys to join his tribe. Simon sits alone in the clearing and discovers a head which is dripping blood from. It calls itself the lord of flies. He faints.

Chapter 9.

When Simon woke up his nose is bleeding and he starts to run. He discovers the dead pilot hanging at the rocks. He finds out the monster they all scared of is nothing more than the shadow of the dead pilot. He goes back to camp to tell the rest of the boys. At camp there is a lot of noise and Jack is sitting as a king on his very own throne. Ralph warns them to build shelters but they do not even listen. Simon returned and he looks terrifying, Jack his squad attacks him and eventually kills him. A storm is coming.

Chapter 10.

The morning after the big accident which got Simon killed is dark. Jack and his tribe are settled on the big mountain on the island. jack his reign is cruel, he punish boys for no reason and he goes back to Ralph to steal fire papers. On the beach Ralph and his group got assaulted by some of Jack his hunters. The hunters stole Piggy his glasses.

Chapter 11.

The next morning the boys at the beach try to make fire but without piggy his glasses it is useless. Ralph and the other boys went to Jack. Ralph and Jack fight and Ralph gets in some kind of fury and lunges at Jack. Two boys are being captured and someone throws a rock at piggy which kills him. Ralph flees and Jack tortures the hostages.

Chapter 12.

Ralph finds shelter in the jungle and is feeling sick about the events that just happened. He thinks about the death of Piggy and Simon. Ralph is returning to Jack his tribe and cannot convince anyone to help him. Jack and some other hunters hunt on Ralph and he can barely make it alive to the beach. When he looks up there is an officer of a ship who is telling him he saw a big fire and merged to the beach. They are rescued.
