Essay: Why Vaccinations Don’t Cause Autism: Separating Fact From Fiction

The article explains why vaccinations do not cause autism and how this myth started out.
I believe this source is reliable because it uses many different reliable sources to support its point and make it clear that vaccinations do not cause autism and where the myth came from. The sources reference different scientific studies and reference them where they are needed. One of these references is Madsen, KM. et al. A population-based study of measles, mumps, and rubella vaccination and autism. New England Journal of Medicine 2002;347:1477-1482. Another one is Deer, B. How the case against the MMR vaccine was fixed. BMJ 2011;342:c5347. This source uses scientific research from multiple sources to structure its argument and that’s why I believe it is a reliable source.

The source says there are retroviruses in vaccines for children and pets which can cause viral contamination and complications. It also says that there is aluminium and mercury in vaccines as well as these retroviruses.
I believe this source is unreliable because it is backed by no real scientific evidence. For example, the source says “There are countless stories from parents and pet owners who’ve witnessed their loved ones suffering after inoculation” but the article does not even give a single one of these stories. The article references multiple sources but these sources are unreliable just like the article itself. These types of Fake news articles use other unreliable sources to prove their point and the sources they use then use other sources and so on. You click on a hyperlink on a Fake news website and it will send you to another one and you keep going on. These articles are never backed by any scientific evidence. They do not link any reliable scientific research, only a link to other unreliable sources. As for the article itself, it’s point is that vaccines have retroviruses in them. Their only main evidence for this is another unreliable article from a different website. This article which is linked then uses 5 resources of its own and the pattern goes on. I believe this is an unreliable source because it’s only references are other news articles backed by no scientific evidence.
Part 2:
Fake news are news sources which are unreliable and give factually incorrect information to today’s society. This makes society believe things which are not actually real. Fake news is so dangerous in this Coronavirus pandemic because it is such a dangerous time and fake news can lead members of the public to believe conspiracy theories on how the Wuhan virus was started or what causes it. Fake news is so dangerous in this situation because misleading information can be spread so easily through social media and the internet. For example someone on Facebook spread the conspiracy theory that “5G causes Coronavirus”. This had led members of the public to spread this misinformation and even wreak havoc by tearing down 5G towers because of their belief of the fake news. One conspiracy theory on this Coronavirus has misled so many people in today’s society and led them to spread fake news as well as trying to “solve the problem” by destroying 5G towers. To start fake news about this pandemic is irresponsible because you can fool so many members of today’s society. Like how Donald Trump; the president of the United States; a very influential figure said that injecting hand sanitizer can stop the Wuhan virus. This then caused two men in Georgia and one man in Kansas to drink cleaning products to help “fight” the virus. This is not only very irresponsible of Donald Trump, but very dangerous because he has caused people to drink or inject cleaning chemicals into themselves because they believed it would “combat” the virus. This has then put these innocent people in danger because cleaning chemicals are poisonous and can be deadly to humans. Later on, Donald Trump said he was being sarcastic, but he never clarified this in the press conference, which made people believe he was being serious. Fake news is so dangerous in this Coronavirus pandemic because it can make people in society put themselves or others in danger. Fake news is so irresponsible in this Coronavirus pandemic because it can make other people do bad things like destroying 5G towers or drinking cleaning chemicals.
