Thomas Sowell once stated, "Do countries with strong gun control laws have lower murder rates? Only if you cherry-pick the data." Turn on any TV and what you see is kids pleading for more strict laws on gun control. Focusing attention and using emotion to lure us in to listen a side with these young victims of mass school shootings who reiterate the question, "how many of us have to die in these school shooting in order to get the point across", in every speech they make. It is important to realize how wrong they all are, gun control should be less restrictive simply because the world isn't perfect, criminals that want to break the law, will always find a way.

The gun debate, having more laws on purchasing guns, has recently been highly publicized due to many recent shootings in various of places. Using these victims, young faces, of these mass shooting to persuade the public to on how we need these laws to control the gun violence. The second amendment states, "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringe", something the left, liberals, want to change and why there are so many protests. Do not let these propaganda campaigns, which celebrities are now taking a part of, let you think gun control is going to stop all the problems. This is will take away our right to protect ourselves and our families, the world as well as the population is not what it used to be before unfortunately. We cannot rely on hoping everyone will obey the law and not decide to kill anyone just because we aren't allowed to carry or even have guns.

In 1972, Mexico established gun control laws stating. We all see how that is working out with them, they have many of their own people running to the united states due to all the violence that happens on a day to day bases. The good people who obey the laws are left defenseless when someone with a gun can easy kill them. Researching the countries that have strict gun laws they are always saying how great they are. Australia is one most people, politicians, love referring to when it comes to convening the people with strict gun control laws. Again, for the media they cherry pick the best outcomes of this law in order to show how effective it is. Mexico is obviously not on that list, no one would ever think Mexico had that law due to all the violence occurring there daily. Another gun control law that has gone wrong and never brought up is Wales an England, in 1997 they saw an increase of nearly fifty-percent in homicide after forcing the ban of on firearms. Australia is a country that is compared or always brought up since their gun control laws have been doing great, according to the publicize reports. Again, most of the people who are for gun control or want to persuade those who are less informed about gun control, cherry pick the statistics to cover up how terribly wrong gun control can become when criminals get ahold of guns.

We need to protect our rights to bear arms, protecting our gun rights is more important than controlling gun ownership. Going back through history we would not have become the Unite States of America without guns. What most Americans are not understanding is what our Founding Fathers did making sure we could defend ourselves against all threats, foreign and domestic. We have the right to bear arms why should this right be taken away for those who have not done anything wrong and just want a sense of protection despite us perhaps never using the firearm. History has shown how citizens having guns restricts the power the government has. In Turkey the Ottoman Empire killed 1.5 million Armenians in 1911 after the ban of guns. In 1929 the Soviet Union implemented gun control and killed twenty million dissidents after twenty years, one million every year. Just twenty-four years ago, in 1994 the Rwanda government disarmed the Tutsi people and killed almost one million of these people. An unarmed country is not a safe country.

The United State Department of Justice sponsored a research study on criminals and armed citizens, interviewing over one thousand eight hundred incarcerated felons about their thoughts on civilians owning a gun or guns. The study found thirty-three percent of these subjects admitted to being scare of civilians with gun ownership and eighty percent of these felons say they avoid homes they believe can be armed. Criminals fear citizens who own guns because police are rarely on scene during a crime that is taking place, police also are bound by policy and procedures, and are trained to only use their firearms when or if it is absolutely necessary, and although most civilians who own a gun at least take a few basic lessons for the firearm, but they are less trained versus someone in law enforcement. Another research based on psychology has shown that people need a sense of security in order to grow and develop in to healthy adults, owning a gun provides just that in such a time as of now. More than half of Americans, sixty-three percent to be exact, believe owning a gun in their home increases the safety.

When you hear the interviews that mass shooting survivors speak upon they usually oppose, now their opinion cannot be questioned, simply because the victims have survived through a horrific event that most humans will never ever see. However, the media only shows what they want the public to feel. If you survive a shooting and stull do not support gun control your opinion will not be questioned, but you will not get asked to interview with any media. Toby Clark is one of those shooting survivors who still do not support gun control despite what he has gone through. Toby has stated via twitter, "I'm open to fix the problems that we have. I mean nobody is perfect-we all make mistakes. But when, you know, people just want to ban something just because someone did something wrong with it-I mean, that's not helping the issue at all." Media, in this time and age has been a huge part in this gun control controversy, since the younger generation who are speaking all have social media platforms. Comparing what Toby Clark has stated versus these kids on television news channels and media outlets protesting gun control recycling everything they all same in every documented speech, age has become a major distinction on the maturity and life experience.

According to

Gun control will become a huge problem if we decide to give up that right. Criminals and those determined to kill will always find a way no matter the obstacles. Gun control should be less restrictive, we just like our Founding Fathers thought as well need that right. The saying is "Guns don't kill people. People kill people", those who have disobeyed the law will not decide not to kill because owning a gun is illegal since murder is illegal as well.  The mainstream media is all about gun control and only do reports on those who do not even have firearms to give their say on such a huge platform. Instead we cherry pick everything they want us to see including false or fluffed statistics. Gun control can go horribly wrong, look at the history on banning guns. Basing off of one country and hearing one sided arguments do not let us become well informed since there is so much risk in taking a right away.
